How do small electronic devices with LEDs, tiny speakers, and robotics gadgets work? How might you make your own motion sensor backpack alarm? Are students in your area learning how to program and make electronically controlled things starting at a young age? Will your youth be pioneers in STEM fields, working to make a brighter future locally and collaborate globally to save the planet?
This webinar introduces the concepts of physical computing using MicroBlocks, a phenomenal new open source tool that has the power to revolutionize STEM learning opportunities globally. Older students can learn to turn their gadgets into IoT devices (“connected, or ‘smart’ devices”) using the built-in Web Thing library. Devices become “interoperable” when they connect to each other using the WebThings Gateway by Mozilla.
We welcome your support to teach youth, and spread the word, about these great open source projects!
